Dear Godsman Elementary School Community,
We are excited to announce that Joana Gutierrez-Ocampo has been selected as the new principal of Godsman Elementary School for the 2022-2023 school year. We are confident Joana will build upon the many strengths of Godsman and that she will carry and expand Godsman’s strong foundation of success for students.
Joana Gutierrez-Ocampo has served in Denver Public Schools since 2014. Joana’s experience includes leading at Valverde as a Senior Team Lead, Biliteracy Specialist, a Principal Intern, Assistant Principal, and most recently the Interim Principal at Godsman. She is eager to continue to work with students, staff and the community to optimize student learning and experiences.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed input and feedback into the selection process. A huge thank you and my sincerest gratitude also goes out to the Collaborative School Committee (CSC) for their hard work and being an integral part of this process. These committees served the school community very well and their unwavering commitment to the ongoing success of Godsman throughout the hiring process was apparent at every turn. We appreciate your engagement in this remote setting.
Look forward to more communication from Joana soon. For the moment, please join me in welcoming Joana as the principal of Godsman Elementary!

Nos complace anunciarles que Joana Gutierrez-Ocampo ha sido seleccionada como nueva directora de la Escuela Primaria Godsman para el año escolar 2022-2023. Estamos convencidos de que Joana desarrollará las numerosas fortalezas de Godsman y que podrá afianzar y ampliar la sólida base de Godsman para el éxito de nuestros estudiantes.
Joana Gutierrez-Ocampo ha trabajado en las Escuelas Públicas de Denver desde 2014. Entre la experiencia de Joana se incluye su liderazgo en Valverde como líder del equipo sénior, especialista de educación biletrada y como pasante de directora. En forma más reciente, ha apoyado a Godsman como subdirectora. Está ávida por trabajar con los estudiantes, el personal escolar y la comunidad para optimizar el aprendizaje y las experiencias estudiantiles.
